Hard Rock International has bought the naming rights to the rebuilt Dolphins stadium in a multi-year deal, a source confirmed, meaning Hard Rock Stadium will kick off the football season in September, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The Dolphins will announce the deal at a Wednesday news conference.
The 29-year-old stadium already had six names, beginning as Joe Robbie Stadium (1987-1995) after the former Dolphins owner got the privately-financed venue built for $115 million. Since then it has been Pro Player Park/Stadium (1996-2004), Dolphins Stadium (2005), Dolphin Stadium (2006-2008), Land Shark Stadium (2009), and Sun Life Stadium (2010-2016).
