AFC East Power Rankings

1. New England Patriots (2-0): The Patriots still top my power rankings simply because they’ve won two division games to start the season. But if they played the Dolphins this week, it sure would be difficult not to pick up-and-coming Miami.

2. Miami Dolphins (2-0): The Dolphins certainly don’t look like pretenders, led by solid play from quarterback Ryan Tannehill and a stingy defense, but they must prove their hot start is sustainable this week vs. the Atlanta Falcons.

3. Buffalo Bills (1-1): EJ Manuel has been impressive in his first two starts at quarterback for the Bills, but he was arguably bailed out by a questionable pass interference call on Buffalo’s game-winning drive in Week 2.

4. New York Jets (1-1): The Jets had every opportunity to upset the Patriots last Thursday night, but rookie quarterback Geno Smith was careless with the football late in the game. If he can begin to steadily improve, the Jets could surprise some teams this year, though.

Week 3 picks (Dolphins pick to be revealed later in week)

Tampa Bay 24, New England 23

New York Jets 13, Buffalo 9
