The Dolphins may be without starting center Mike Pouncey for the rest of the season, as he’s been sidelined the last three weeks by a recurring hip injury.
The center said Sunday that he’s not sure he’ll play the rest of the season, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
“You’ve got to ask coach [Adam] Gase that one,” Pouncey said. “I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes.”
Pouncey also said that his left hip “feels good” and that he’s making progress, but that he’s day-to-day.
He added that he doesn’t know how he re-injured his hip, which needed surgery in the preseason. Pouncey visited a specialist while the Dolphins were on the West Coast, and the doctor ultimately decided that he would not need another procedure and might be able to play again this year.
“Anytime you don’t have to get surgery, it’s the best news in the world,” Pouncey said.
