Dolphins Lose Starting Safety Reshad Jones for Season with Torn Rotator Cuff

Reshad Jones

The Dolphins have suffered a huge blow in the injury department, as the team has lost starting safety Reshad Jones for the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff.

Jones, who will have season-ending surgery, faces a four to six month recovery, a source told ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

While Jones’ season is over, cornerback Chris Culliver is slated to practice for first time this year, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jones suffered his injury in Sunday’s victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jones had sought a second opinion in the hopes he could return at some point this season.

It’s a huge loss for the Dolphins, as already Miami has the 28th-rated defense, and now they are losing their second-ranked tackler in Jones, who has 51 tackles, and Sunday he got his first pick of the season in the 30-15 win over the Steelers.
