Dolphins Left Tackle Branden Albert May Not Be Able to Go Vs Bengals

Branden Albert

Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert still isn’t sure he will be able to play at Cincinnati on Thursday night due to an ankle injury, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports. And coach Adam Gase isn’t sure either.

Albert has been mentoring left guard Laremy Tunsil as the left tackle of the future. And Tunsil took some reps in camp and in the preseason at left tackle, but he’s made a nice transition to the inside.

Gase didn’t want to get into what Miami would do if Albert can’t go, and that’s likely because some shuffling would be in order. Certainly veteran right guard Jermon Bushrod could shift to left tackle, where he’s been a Pro Bowler. But that was before he sustained some injuries.

It seems Tunsil could slide out to tackle, where some view he could be a future Pro Bowler. And Miami could use Billy Thomas or Dallas Thomas at left guard. Or Bushrod could even slide to left guard and Thomas or Thomas could play on the right.
