Report: Ross Ready to Pull the Plug on Dolphins Coach Philbin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Miami Dolphins

It appears the end could very well be near for Dolphins coach Joe Philbin, who hasn’t been able to turn the franchise around. The Dolphins lost badly Sunday in London to the Jets, and are a complete mess right now.

Adam Schefter from ESPN put up on Facebook that owner Stephen Ross is ready to can Philbin – replacing him with TE coach Dan Campbell.

Here’s the Facebook post:

As of last night, the Dolphins were preparing to fire head coach Joe Philbin, per league sources. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross always could change his mind, but the organization was preparing to make a move as soon as today, per sources. Should Ross follow through with his plan, Dolphins tight ends coach Dan Campbell would be the leading candidate to become the interim head coach and replace Philbin.
