Dolphins and Brian Gaine part ways

Brian Gaine

Earlier today, the Dolphins reported that they have parted ways with Assistant GM Brian Gaine. This wasn’t much of a surprise as Hickey would want to bring in his own assistant. Gaine was also only one of the GM finalists who wasn’t offered a job, it was clear Ross didn’t see a future that involved Gaine.

Adam Beasley, of the Miami Harold started to report that Gaine was mistreated by the Dolphins, having to be escorted out of the building and found out he lost his job through social media. Hours later, Beasley started to retract his statements, Gaine was accompanied to the door, not escorted. Gaine was also reached out to by the Dolphins on Monday to be informed about the news. So, its been a very interesting day for Dolphins fans.

But what comes next? Dennis Hickey (Miami’s  new GM) will look for possible replacements. Mark Dominik is a name to keep in mind. He was the Buc’s GM before he got fired after the 2013 season. The combination of Dominik and Hickey are responsible for the Revis contract (which is pretty outrageous) and were right in the middle of the whole Josh Freeman issue last year.

That doesn’t mean they didn’t do some things to like. They have a very talented roster that under preformed in 2013. Their drafts are also better than most of the Dolphins drafts under Ireland. The Bucs two strengths are their lines. Hopefully Hickey, possibly with Dominik can create some solid lines…. for Ryan Tannehills sake.

As a side not, the Dolphins have named John Benton(for Texans offensive line coach) the new assistant Oline coach. It is assumed that when the report done by David Wells on the Incognito- Martin Saga is released, Jim Tuner will be fired. John Benton will then take over as the Offensive line coach.
