The Dolphins have hired Eagles quarterback coach Bill Lazor to be their new offensive coordinator according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The hiring is somewhat of a surprise as Lazor was widely expected to become the new OC for the Detroit Lions instead.
Lazor interviewed for the Miami job last Wednesday. After the Dolphins lost out to the Giants for ex-Packers QBs coach Ben McAdoo on Tuesday, they turned their attention to Lazor.
The 41-year-old spent one season in Philadelphia and drew high praise for his work with Nick Foles. The Dolphins hope Lazor can work similar magic with Ryan Tannehill.
