Ryan Tannehill Ranks Ahead of Tom Brady in Jersey Sales

Tannehill wearing the new-look uniform

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is quickly becoming one of the NFL’s most popular players–at least if you look at jersey sales.

According to Big Lead Sports, Tannehill had the league’s sixth highest selling jersey from April 1-June 30.

More people are buying Tannehill’s No. 17 jersey than they are Tom Brady’s, who finished seventh, and Aaron Rodgers’, who came in ninth.

For those who are curious, Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Robert Griffin III, Adrian Peterson and Peyton Manning finished ahead of Tannehill, in that order.

These rankings might not be a direct representation of how popular Tannehill actually is, though. The Dolphins recently underwent a rebranding effort with a new logo, slightly modified colors and new uniforms.

Of course Dolphins gear is going to see a huge spike in sales. Hardcore Miami fans don’t want to be caught wearing the old product.

So maybe Tannehill isn’t one of the league’s top 10 most popular players, but there is nothing stopping him from becoming a mainstay on lists such as these in the future. Leading the Dolphins to the playoffs in 2013 would be a start.

Who among our readers already has one of the new Tannehill jerseys?
