The Miami Dolphins have agreed to a contract with another member of their 2013 draft class, this time coming to terms with second-round pick Jamar Taylor. The rookie corner will reportedly make up to $3.6 million over the next four years and no less than the $2 million he’s guaranteed.
Taylor has missed all of the team’s OTA sessions while he recovers from sports hernia surgery, but there’s hope he can still participate in mandatory minicamp June 11th. If not, there’s no doubt Taylor will be ready for training camp in July.
When Taylor does return, he’s expected to be in the mix for a starting job. Brent Grimes has impressed this offseason and will lock down one of the two available spots if he can stay healthy. But Richard Marshall’s job can be had if Taylor puts together a strong showing in camp and exhibition season.
With Taylor now under contract, Dion Jordan, Dallas Thomas, and Will Davis are the only remaining unsigned draft picks. I expect Thomas and Davis to sign soon. Jordan may not have a deal until training camp.
The Dolphins have also waived wide receiver Taylor Stockemer this evening.
