Dolphins wrap up 2013 NFL Draft by selecting DB Don Jones

Don Jones rounds out Dolphins’ draft

The Miami Dolphins have made their final decision of the 2013 NFL Draft, selecting Arkansas State defensive back Don Jones.

Jones is the third defensive back taken in this draft by Miami after Jeff Ireland doubled down on cornerbacks with Jamar Taylor in the second round and Will Davis in the third.

Jones, however, will likely play safety for the Dolphins as he tries to crack the 53-man roster in training camp.

A seventh-round pick has made the Dolphins’ regular season roster at least once in the past five seasons, providing hope to a lesser known prospect like Jones.

Don Jones was not invited to the NFL combine, but had an impressive pro day at Arkansas State where he ran a 4.40-second 40 and displayed a 42-inch vertical jump.
