Defensive end and Miami native Elvis Dumervil would have interest in joining the Dolphins, his agent said this morning according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
But agent Marty Magid said the Dolphins so far have not called about Dumervil, who was released Friday by Denver after Dumervil returned paperwork agreeing to a paycut minutes after a deadline to accept it.
Magid said “a handful” of teams have called about Dumervil and he will “reach out” to teams he “fits well with” or has interest in. He said Miami would be one of those teams.
Magid said he spoke to Denver Friday night, but the Broncos did not clarify whether they have interest in re-signing him at this point.

As much as I would love to see the Dolphins sign Dumervil, I just don’t see how we can do it. We’ve already overpaid for Wallace (who we desperately needed), Ellerbe and Wheeler (who we didn’t need). We have also signed Dustin Keller and Brandon Gibson. When you add in the need to sign our draft picks, I don’t know how we can find the money to add Dumervil.
