Posted in The Dolphins made a number of coaching moves Wednesday, among them was promoting Zac Taylor to quarterbacks coach from assistant quarterbacks coach, and naming Marwan Maalouf assistant special teams coach, Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
In other moves the team promoted Charlie Bullen to defensive line coach from defensive line assistant and promoted Ben Johnson to assistant quarterbacks coach from offensive assistant.
Taylor, entering his second season with the Dolphins, helped quarterback Ryan Tannehill pass for a franchise rookie record 3,294 yards last season and become the first rookie quarterback to start all 16 games. Tannehill also established franchise rookie records for pass attempts (484) and completions (282). He ended the season with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Maalouf, who was Indianapolis’ special teams coordinator last season, joins a Dolphins special teams unit that was ranked fourth overall in the NFL by Rick Gosselin, the NFL writer for the Dallas Morning News who annually crunches the numbers.
