Last week the Miami Dolphins played tough in a loss to the New England Patriots, and now have the task of going out west to take on the not-so-happy San Fran 49ers.
The Niners were beat in OT by the Rams last week, and will look to stop Miami to get back on track and prove why many Online Sportsbook odds have them as big favorites at 11 points.
Here’s three keys to how the Dolphins can get outta San Fran with a win.
1. Pick Your Spots in the Ground Game – The 49ers are allowing an average of only 90.6 yards on the ground, and the Fins have to be able to push the ground game enough to keep the Niners aware of it. While San Fran is good in run defense, the Dolphins have to find a way to run the ball in order to keep their offense moving.
2. No Mistakes – Last week vs the Pats, the Dolphins had moments of looking like the Keystone Cops, fumbling the ball and not looking very sound. Coach Joe Philbin said miscues like last week, which included a botched punt and a Tannehill fumble, can’t happen against San Francisco. “Too many mistakes,” Philbin said. “To beat a good opponent in December, you have to play better.” If they don’t it’s going to be a long day.
3. Spy on Kaepernick – The Niners rookie QB has thrown three TD passes and ran for two more scores with a 97.4 passer rating since getting his shot. Colin will look to throw first, but won’t be afraid to take off with it, and the Dolphins have to be well aware of it or the QB will go off for 70-90 yards.
Prediction – The Fins have been competitive for the most part, but this is a very tough spot, with the Niners coming off a loss and back at home, they sorely need this game. The Dolphins are struggling with the pass game, and it will show with the 49ers getting a big win with Kaepernick having another solid game. San Francisco 27 Miami 10
