Alex Smith and David Garrard Set to Both Speak to Fins

The Miami Dolphins are still searching for a QB, and reports are the team is going to get a visit from Niners FA QB Alex Smith, as well as former Jags QB David Garrard.

Smith is in limbo while the Niners play with the notion of going to get Peyton Manning. He said last week he was happy with the three-year deal the team was set to offer him, but then with Manning talking to the team, he’s yet to ink anything.

Smith likely will also chat with the Seahawks, and may also talk to the Browns as well.

Garrard was released by the Jaguars just days before their 2011 regular-season opener. Over his nine-year career, Garrard has completed 61.6 percent of his 2,281 pass attempts for 16,003 yards with 89 touchdowns, 54 interceptions and one trip to the Pro Bowl (2009).

Garrard, 34, also has over 1,700 rushing yards with 17 touchdowns during his career.

  1. John Kendrick says:

Jeff Ireland is a fucking idiot. Fire him tomorrow!!!!! We lived through the Dallas lunacy with jerry jones , including the bill parcells joke, also in Miami . Now living in miami we have to watch these idiots screw up the dolphins. Get a new general manager who knows football and send ireland to haiti where his lack of talent will not be noticed. If Steven ross runs his real estate business like he runs the dolphins he deserves to be the next bankrupt real estate guy. GOD HELP US.
