Tony Sparano Fired

NFL Network has reported that Tony Sparano has been fired.

This caps a strange season for Sparano, who will have no problem getting a job as an offensive line coach. Michael Irvin had commented that he felt the practices he saw in training camp lacked intensity. An 0-7 start resulted in a lot of speculation that Sparano would be fired. Matt Moore, Reggie Bush and the rest of the offense began to attack defenses a little better and the defense showed up on a 4-game win streak.

Now, after dropping 2 of the last 3, Sparano has been fired. In my estimation, there are more pieces in Miami than in Jacksonville or Kansas City. The top names being mentioned for jobs are Rob Ryan, Bill Cowher, Jeff Fisher, Josh McDaniels and Mike Zimmer.

Assistant head coach and secondary coach Todd Bowles is going to coach the rest of the season. ESPN is reporting that Carl Peterson will be brought in by Stephen Ross to perform the same front office duties that Bill Parcells did.
