Dolphins Announce Inking of RB Larry Johnson

The Dolphins have brought aboard a bruiser to go along with the shifty running of Reggie Bush. The Fins have announced the signing of free agent running back Larry Johnson. Terms were not disclosed.

The 31-year-old Johnson has rushed for 6,221 yards and 55 touchdowns in his eight-year career, which began as a first-round pick out of Penn State by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2003.

Johnson had Pro Bowl seasons in 2005 and 2006, the latter in which the 6-foot-1, 228-pound running back logged a league-high 416 carries. Since 2006, Johnson has not appeared in more than 14 games or had more than 200 carries in a single season.

Released by the Chiefs in 2009, Johnson finished the season with the Bengals before signing with the Redskins in 2010. Johnson had two yards on five carries for the Redskins last September before he was released.
