Orton Is Dolphins First Choice At Qb

Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that current Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton will be the first decision Miami makes today once teams are allowed to make/field calls for free agents and trades.

The Dolphins are looking to bring in a veteran quarterback to compete with current starter Chad Henne, and Orton is the one guy who would come in and immediately compete, being as he is the person who has the most experience with the Dolphins system.

All of the orbs options, whether it be Donovan McNabb, Vince Young, or Marc Bulger, all are either on the downside of their career (Bulger and McNabb) or dont fit the Fins system as well as they’d like (McNabb and Young).

Hyde also is reporting that Young will be the teams second option, and it is looking more and more like despite being rimless, that the Dolphins will show no interest in McNabb.

It will likely cost a mid-round pick and close to $9 million this year, but you can bet general manager Jeff Ireland is making a call to the Broncos as we speak.
