Dolphins Ink Five Undrafted Free Agents

QB Jeff Van Camp, Florida Atlantic – Motor City Bowl: Traveled with the squad and worked hand-in-hand with former Coach Gary Nord and the team’s offense. 2008: Played in four games…was 8-20-1 on the year for 55 yards…his longest pass was a 17 yard toss at ULL…became an important part of the team’s offense and success…received the majority of snaps during spring ball.

RB Nic Grigsby, Arizona – 2009: Finished eighth in the Pac-10 in rushing (567) in 2009 despite missing three full games and not being fully healthy (shoulder) in a total of six contests… Averaged 7.2 yards per carry as junior… Had 94-yard run against NAU, the school’s longest non-scoring run in history and second-longest run in the UA record book…2008: Honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors in 2008… 2008 total of 13 rushing TDs was the third most in UA single-season history… Had five 100-yard games with season-best 189 yards on 28 totes at WSU… Added 12 receptions for 62 yards…2007: Earned all-league freshman and honorable mention All-America honors from The Sporting News… Second on the team in all-purpose yardage in `07 with 904 yards on 704 rushing yards and 200 catching the ball.

TE Brett Brackett, Penn State – Brackett emerged as a leader of a talented, but youthful corps of Nittany Lion receivers during the 2009 campaign. He was one of the few wideouts with significant playing time heading into last season and he will be looked to for leadership and production during his fifth-year senior season. In April, the coaching staff selected the talented and hard-working Brackett and tackle Quinn Barham as co-recipients of the Red Worrell Award, presented to the offense’s most improved player in spring practice. In 2009, Brackett was named winner of the team’s Frank Patrick Total Commitment Award.

OL Garrett Chisolm, South Carolina – 2010: Former walk-on who has made a major impact on the Gamecocks’ offensive line as a senior…Named second-team All-SEC by league’s coaches…Named to SEC Community Service Team…Started 12 of 13 games at left guard…Did not play vs. Furman (family emergency)… Nominated for Campbell Award (formerly known as Draddy Award)… Earned Harold White GPA Award for the offense in the spring…2009: Joined the squad when school began in August… worked his way into the two-deep… made his debut against SC State… made his first career start at left guard against Arkansas…2008: Attended South Carolina but did not participate in football…2007: Attended Trident Tech in Charleston…2006: Attended Pikeville College in Pikeville, Ky. where he played football.

CB Jose Perez, San Diego State – 2010 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST FOOTBALL HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Jose Perez, Sr., DB, has been selected All-Mountain West Honorable Mention for the 2010 college football season as selected by the nine league head coaches and select media panel. Perez is second in the league in pass break-ups with 10 from his starting cornerback. – San Diego State football
