Dolphins Still to Use the Wildcat Says Henning

Even though he is long gone from the Dolphins’ sideline, former offensive coordinator Dan Henning believes the Wildcat is here to stay.

Henning told Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post that, although the Pat White experiment didn’t work and the team gave up on the second-round draft pick, rookie second-round running back Daninel Thomas was a junior college quarterback, sixth-round H-back Charles Clay played Wildcat quarterback at Tulsa, and first-round center Mike Pouncey has extensive experience with the direct-snap offense from his days at Florida.

The Dolphins may no longer call it the Wildcat but they will continue being aggressive and creative with those formations. And if the team adds Reggie Bush to the mix as has been rumored, look for the Dolphins to run wild in 2011.
