Williams Willing To End Career In Miami

Despite the ensuing lockout this summer, lest not forget the numerous free agents that the Miami Dolphins have yet to sign, or should I say, indicate that they would show interest in signing. Because of this pesky lockout, not only is the lack of substantial news boring, but teams are not allowed to interact with their players at all. But that does not mean that players cannot comment on their current contract situations, such as Ricky Williams did this week on his Twitter account:

I’d love nothing more than to finish my career winning a Super Bowl with the Dolphins, but that’s gonna take some cooperation from others.

It seems clear that Ricky loves it here in Miami, and the city definitely loves him, even through everything that we have been through with him.

This would not be the first time that the Dolphins were rumored to be playing hardball with their free agents. They tend to take a wait and see approach, and while they no longer can evaluate Williams because he is no longer under contract with the team, they will have to make a decision on whether or not they want him back not long after this lockout is lifted.

A rift that could potentially come between the Dolphins and Williams reuniting could be also another free agent running back on the team, Ronnie Brown. The Dolphins will have to pick out of the two which one they would prefer to run alongside rookie Daniel Thomas.

Both have stated that they would like to stay in Miami, so it appears the ball is now in Jeff Ireland’s court.
