Sparano won’t name his starting QB for Sunday

The Dolphins’ coach Tony Sparano wouldn’t name Tyler Thigpen or Chad Henne today as his starting quarterback against the Raiders according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

“We’ll see, I’m not sure,” Sparano said while trying to cloak his laughter. “I was completely prepared for that question, and that’s my answer. I’m sticking to it.”

Henne, who suffered a left knee injury in the Nov. 14 win over Tennessee, wore a brace while practicing on a limited basis Wednesday. But the coaches and trainers are monitoring him to ensure he doesn’t suffer a setback.

Thigpen, who completed 17-of-29 passes for 187 yards but threw an interception and was sacked six times as the starter in last week’s 16-0 loss to Chicago, said he’s approaching this week as if he’s the starter.
