Sparano Reveals Goal of Second Pre-Season Game For Fins

In his daily press conference, Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano told the Miami media what his goals are for the second of four pre-season games, which plays right into my game preview coming tomorrow.

You obviously want to get some of your starters, or kinda starters, a little bit more work. Get the tweeners, the bubble guys a little bit more work. But you also want to identify specific clumps,” Sparano said. “Get a look a groups of people out there you might have some questions about.

Some of the players that Sparano mentioned that he would like to see more of are receivers Marlon Moore, Roberto Wallace, safety Nate Ness, and cornerback Nolan Carroll.

With all of the younger, fringe players likely getting more repitions in this Saturdays game against Jacksonville, this means less reps for the starters, and seasoned vets.

One player that Sparano failed to mention in the presser was backup quarterback Pat White. With fellow backup Chad Pennington likely not getting any reps for the second straight exhibition game, and Tyler Thigpen hogging all of the reserve reps in the first pre-season game, it looks to be White’s turn to show his stuff. White is very much a player on the brink of getting the axe this off-season.
