The rumors of the possibility of Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant coming to Miami have been heating up as of late. The fact that the Dolphins are in desperate need of a legitimate #1 wide receiver, ramps up the hype on this possibility as well.
The past month has been an eventful one for Bryant and the Dolphins, from Bryant holding his Pro Day, and not coming away with any impressive results, and the Dolphins hosting Bryant for a two day visit, it appears that the Dolphins are at least showing some interest in taking the #1 rated wide receiver in the draft.
Apparently, not only do the Dolphins like what they see in Bryant, but so does Keyshawn Johnson:
“This is a receiver who’s at the head of his class at his position. He’s a big (6-2, 225), physical receiver and it’s pretty impressive that he returns punts at the same time. He fits the pro game very well and he should be a great player in the NFL. It’s just irresponsible for people to try and peg him as a problem. I’ve talked to Bill [Parcells] on a number of occasions about Dez already, and I hope the Miami Dolphins draft him. I hope he’s lucky like I was to work with someone (Parcells) who cared about me as more than a football player, but as a person.”
Could Keyshawn be the deciding factor in whether or not the Dolphins select Bryant with the #12 overall pick? Well, for starters, the Dolphins would have no need to pick Bryant if they were to trade for Brandon Marshall for the new asking price that is believed to be a 2nd rounder, and a lesser round pick.
Whether the Dolphins get Bryant or Marshall, the Dolphins must at least try to address the wide receiver position before the off-season is up, whether it means trading for a guy, using a high draft choice, or picking up a guy on Day 3 of the draft, the position needs to be addressed.
Keyshawn hopes we address this weakness by picking up Dez Bryant!
