Rex Ryan A Breathe Of Fresh Air? No, It’s All About Sean Payton

While this is not about the Dolphins, nor pertains to anything that the Dolphins are doing this off-season, I felt that it needed to get out there.

Many people this off-season, whether it be Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy, or any other NFL related person, are saying that rookie New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is a “fresh of breathe air” to the league, and gives the Jets fans something to relate to.

While it may give the brash and obnoxious Jets fans (no offense!!), something to relate to, Ryan is just not the kind of coach that the NFL needs to represent the league.

By saying that a certain coach is a “breathe of fresh air”, you are saying that this certain coach is something that the NFL, and its fans, should be proud of and may become the face of the league, as a coach.

Would any of you fans want the NFL to be hand in hand with Rex Ryan? And keep in mind that this is the same Rex Ryan who flipped fans off, got into media wars with Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, and said his team would be in the Super Bowl, during OTA’s!

Ryan may be a uhh, little different than the rest of the coaches around the NFL, but that does not mean that he is a “breathe of fresh air”.

A “breathe of fresh air”, in my mind is Sean Payton.

Rewatching the Super Bowl film on NFL Network, I noticed some of the many emotions that were released during the Big Game by the New Orleans Saints coach, and sat in pure joy and amazement at the love that this guy has for the game, and for his job.

Payton not only shows his class on and off the field, but he leads by example, which is something that I admire.

But one of the traits that Payton has about him is his ability to show his emotion in the heat of battle, and not let it influence his decisions, something that gets to Dolphins coach Tony Sparano.

Payton is an all-around offensive genius, and like Ryan, has his specialty when it comes to the game of football.

Payton has built his team from scratch, and has brought back the city of New Orleans, and has helped rebuilt that city. That is something that Ryan will never be able to do. Payton, and Drew Brees, have helped New Orleans in ways that no coach will ever be able to help a city, and for that reason, you just have to stop and cheer for this guy.

He shows his emotion, only in a classy, and non-vulgar or inappropriate way, like Ryan. He is the mastermind behind the comeback against the Indianapolis Colts.

Unlike Rex, Payton is just a class act, while showing his emotion in the heat of battle. Payton is pretty much the classier version of Rex in a nutshell. There is really nothing bad that you can say about Payton.

He is a guy that is truly a “breathe of fresh air”, and can give the Saints fans something to cheer for even during the off-season.

So sorry Rex, your just not the breathe of fresh air that I need right now, I prefer the air down in New Orleans!
