Dolphins Propose Partial Roof In Effort To Attract Future Super Bowls

The Palm Beach Post reports that there’s talk about putting a roof on Dolphin Stadium with hopes of getting more Super Bowls:

When South Florida bids this spring for another Super Bowl, the host committee hopes to offer a stadium that would feature a partial roof to protect fans from the elements. The metal roof – which would cover the seats at Dolphin Stadium but not the playing field – is the centerpiece of a proposal the Dolphins presented Thursday to the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee, the committee, heeding the recent advice of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, believes it needs an improved stadium to lure Super Bowls after the Feb. 7 game here. The next Super Bowl site to be decided is for the 2014 game, Dolphins CEO Mike Dee did not say Thursday how the project would be funded or what it would cost. “It’s a significant investment,” he said.
