TE Martin and Safety Kilmer Held Out of Practice

The Palm Beach Post reports that TE David Martin and safety Ethan Kilmer were both held off the field this morning in practice:

Tight end David Martin and safety Ethan Kilmer were nowhere to be seen when the Dolphins took the field for their lone workout of the day Friday afternoon.

Martin, of course, was sidelined during the spring OTAs and mini-camp after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia. He admitted on the first day of camp Sunday that he’d been “nervous” about getting back into action, but hadn’t looked his usual self during the first few days of camp.

History tells us that recovery from a sports hernia often takes longer than anticipated, and running at full speed is the last thing to come back.
