Could you see Ted Ginn Jr. and Plaxico Burress catching passes from Chad Pennington in 2009? That’s the way Burress would like it to go down if he has any say in it. Today’s Miami Herald reports that Burress is telling anyone around town that will listen that he would like to join the fish:
Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who has a residence in Miami, has told people he would love to join the Dolphins if his legal problems are resolved. The Jets and Buccaneers are reportedly interested. Burress will appear in court next month and faces the possibility of a 3 1/2 year sentence for carrying an unlicensed firearm.
There is no denying Burress’ talent, but is he worth the risk? The Dolphins need to keep improving on both sides of the ball, and the addition of Burress would be a big lift – but at what cost on and off the field?
