Pennington Won’t Ask Dolphins for a New Deal

Coming off a solid season in which he was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, QB Chad Pennington says he won’t be asking the Fins to rip up and give him a new deal anytime soon. Here’s the tidbit about that from today’s South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

Dolphins QB Chad Pennington, whose contract expires following next season, said he has no plans to re-negotiate an extension. “I’ve been in this league long enough to know to feel good about where I am right now and let that take care of itself,” he said.

Chad is going to be the starter in 2009 unless something unforseen happens according to head coach Tony Sparano.
