Dolphins Sign LB Derek Smith w/ Crowder Ailing

From: ProFootballTalk.com

With linebacker Channing Crowder nursing a knee injury that kept him out of Sunday’s win at Kansas City, the Dolphins have signed free-agent linebacker Derek Smith, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Smith, a 12-year veteran, was released by the Chargers last month. He also has played for the Redskins and the 49ers.

The Fins cut receiver Chris Hannon to create a spot for Smith. As mentioned in a previous post, the Lions claimed Hannon off waivers.
