Big Fantasy Matchups for Sundays Dolphins-Broncos Game

From: KFFL.com

Broncos WR Brandon Marshall vs. Dolphins CB Will D. Allen
Cornerbacks with the size and strength to cover big, physical receivers such as Marshall are rare. The Dolphins have been grooming Allen, a converted safety, for that purpose. He received his first action at his new position against the Bills last week and led the team with six tackles. He also broke up one pass and recovered a fumble. Although the Dolphins are 25th in the NFL in passing defense, Miami’s pass defense is coming off a solid performance against the Buffalo Bills last week. Teams have been doubling Marshall and limiting him to short catches. Marshall, who has caught 49 passes for 598 yards and three touchdowns, will require Allen’s best work – and some help from the safeties.

Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown vs. Broncos LB Nate Webster

Webster hits with force but isn’t very instinctive and can often be bamboozled into misdiagnosing plays. The Broncos defense has struggled against the run, allowing 154.6 yards per game and 5.4 yards per carry. Brown, who is averaging 4.1 yards per attempt, and the wildcat offense should run wild in Denver. Brown rushed for 43 yards on 14 carries last week against Buffalo, but he was sparingly used in the base offense and red zone situations. That role went to Ricky Williams, his backfield partner, who scored the only rushing touchdown against the Bills. The Dolphins are averaging 103 rushing yards per game but have not rushed for over 100 yards in the past three contests. That should change.

Broncos OT Ryan Clady vs. Dolphins LB Joey Porter

This isn’t a typical rookie-versus-star matchup. Clady has been one of Denver’s best players this season. He hasn’t allowed a sack and has committed only two penalties even though the Broncos average almost 37 passes per game. If Clady can continue his shutout streak against the NFL’s sack leader, he should start getting a lot more attention for the fantastic start to his career.
