Dolphins Raiding Saints’ Cupboard?

The Miami Dolphins are getting very close to completing their coaching staff; according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and verified by an NFL source, the team has offered the offensive coordinator position to current New Orleans Saints quarterback coach Pete Carmichael, Jr.; meanwhile, Saints special teams coordinator John Bonamego has accepted the same position with the Dolphins.

Assuming that Carmichael accepts the OC position, this will be his first job leading an offense at any level of football.  Carmichael has been credited with working with Saints QB Drew Brees both in San Diego and New Orleans and has worked with current Saints head coach Sean Payton.  Bonamego has coached 9 seasons in the NFL and worked alongside current Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano in Jacksonville under then-Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin.
