Parcells Arrives in Miami; Takes a Four-Year Deal as Head of Football Operations
The Dolphins have a new fish in town, and his name is Tuna.
Yes, Bill Parcells has arrived, and with him the hopes and dreams of the Dolphins once again becoming contenders for a team that seems on the verge of winning just one game in 2007. Parcells agreed to a four-year deal on Wednesday according to the Miami Herald, and he will take the role of head of football operations.
As Parcells arrives, you can almost for sure say so long to current GM Randy Mueller. If you know anything about Parcells, it’s that he likes to bring his own guys in, meaning that Mueller, and possibly even coach Cam Cameron may be looking for work after the final two games.
The former Giants, Jets and Cowboys coach comes to Miami with much fanfare. Players on the team are already taking notice of the former Super Bowl coaches arrival to the front office. ”We’re going to have a new daddy,” offensive tackle L.J. Shelton stated.
”We talk a lot throughout this league and Bill Parcells is one of those names that if he comes in and he’s on board, he’s a guy that’s going to get things going in the right direction,” Vonnie Holliday said. “He’s the Big Tuna.”
So each and every player on the Fins had better take notice. Parcells wants perfection, and he won’t accept anything less, meaning each and every player on the teams roster had better plan to step up their game if they want to be around in 2008.
