The NFL reinstated Dolphins running back Ricky Williams on Wednesday. Williams hasn’t played in the NFL since 2005 because of a suspension for numerous violations of the league’s drug policy. The 1998 Heisman Trophy winner was suspended for his fourth violation in April 2006. Williams played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadien Football League in 2006. He rushed for 623 yards on 124 carries. The 30-year-old sat out 2004 after announcing his retirement in July. He returned the following year after the Dolphins demanded he return bonus money for breach of contract. His best season with the Dolphins came in 2002, when he led the league with 1,853 yards rushing to go with 16 TDs.
