Fins Fold Late in Losing 13-10 to Buffalo

Booker upset with the loss

The Miami Dolphins first win in 2007 seemed closer than ever Sunday, as they led the Bills 10-2 in the 4th quarter. Then, just as has happened most of the time in 2007, the team folded enough to allow the Bills to score 11 points in the last 9:46 to go on to lose at home 13-10. Buffalo trailed 10-2 when a 66-yard drive saw them pull within 10-8 after back Marshawn Lynch scored from three yards out. Lynch also ran for two to tie the game.

The Bills held on the following drive, and Roscoe Parrish took the punt back 40 yards to midfield to give the Bills a shot with 4:37 left. That shot turned into gold as the team marched down the field and converted two third downs to move to the 16-yard line to set up Rian Lindell’s game-winning 34-yard field goal with :46 seconds left.

Miami got the ball back and were not able to move at all, as they got a 4-yard pass from Cleo Lemon to Jesse Chatman on first down, but then was incomplete on his next three passes to end the game. The Dolphins wasted a great game from Chatman, who ran for 124 yards on 27 carries. Lemon was 16-for-29 for 131 yards

The Bills offense was only able to generate 214 total yards after close to 500 at home last week against the Bengals. Sunday in Miami they put up just 4.3 yards per play, and overall only held the ball for 23:01 while the Fins had it for 36:59. The winless Dolphins will try again next week, as they take on the Eagles on the road in Philly.
