Little Offense Dooms Dolphins in London in 13-10 Loss

In a game that if you watched it you likely hope they won’t play it again on NFL Network, the Dolphins had little offense but at least a better defense but as usual – a loss.  Miami, as the home team in London, fell to the Giants 13-10 on a day that looked more like mid-November in New York – rainy and dreary.  There was not much to see on the field at Wembley Stadium on a soggy Sunday, as the teams combined for a lackluster 23 points overall.  The Dolphins continue to keep pace with the Rams as the only other team not to win a game this year as they sit at 0-8.

It was the first NFL regular season game to be played outside North America, and the league had better think again about doing another game, as this game clearly showed that putting two teams that far away from home at this point in the season is a bad idea.

The game was hindered by a steady rain that made it look downright dreary on TV.  As far as wanting to play overseas again, Giants coach Tom Coughlin basically spoke out against it.  “I’ll be glad to give my opinion to the commissioner with the issues that came up,” Coughlin said when asked if the trip was worth it.

As for the Miami offense, they were shut out until 1:04 remained in the third quarter, and their only TD came with 1:54 to go when Cleo Lemon found Ted Ginn Jr. for a score from 21 yards out to make it 13-10.  The ensuing onside kick went out of bounds, giving the Giants the win as the Fins had no more timeouts.

The Dolphins return to the field in two weeks as well as they look for win #1 against the Bills at home.
