Thomas May Not Play Due to Head Injury

Linebacker Zach Thomas may not be able to go Sunday vs the Jets after undergoing tests on Thrusday for a possible concussion. Thomas said postgame last Sunday that he felt lightheaded, and then on Wednesday complained that he had a migrane and missed practice. “In a lot of cases, the player wants to play,” Cameron said. “Sometimes you’ve just got to take a deep breath, and sometimes it’s tough. You know what it means to lose a player like Zach Thomas. But there is a lot bigger picture out there that you are accountable to.”
The outlook at that linebacker spot would be Channing Crowder, who play in the middle, and Donnie Spragan would then likely play outside for Crowder. In two games this season with the Fins, Thomas has 17 solo tackles and 23 total tackles to go along with one sack. He has only missed 13 games in his 12-year career. Cameron said that a decision on if he’ll play or not will likely happen today.
