Simple Formula – Run the Ball More and Fins Win

Brown

The bottom line of the Miami Dolphins is rather simple – when the team runs more than it passes – it wins. With that said, if the team is going to rebound off this awful 0-2 start, they are going to have to start using Ronnie Brown and Jesse Chatman more than what they have the first two weeks of the season. Brown so far as been nothing short of a bust, as he has 11 carries in each of the last two games for 65 yards, averaging a sagging three yards per carry. “We need to run the ball more,” coach Cam Cameron said. “We need to run the ball better, and I think it’s very obvious. It’s no fault of anybody. It’s the way the (first) two games have played out.”

This could be the week for Brown and company to get off running the ball, as last season he ran very hard vs the Jets, rushing for 127 yards in the first contest, and 110 yards in the second meeting. Here are some numbers to chew on – when Brown rushes the ball 20 or more times, the Fins are 6-2. They are 7-15 when he has less than 20 carries. Does it get any more black and white than that? “I look forward to another opportunity to get the running game going and help things fall our way.” Let’s hope Cameron is listening to his back as well.
