Fins Make Roster Moves, Hakim and Schlesinger Among Those Gone

The Dolphins made roster moves on Saturday to get their roster down to 53 players.  Among the surprises included the termination of the contracts of wide out Az-Zahir Hakeem and 13-year vet in fullback Cory Schlesinger.  Rookie sixth-round pick Reagan Mauia will now take over the role of fullback for the Fins, and will be asked to pave the way for workhorse back Ronnie Brown.  Below is the complete list of players that moves were made with on Saturday.

“This is always a difficult day,” said Dolphins General Manager Randy Mueller. “Everyone in camp did everything we asked of them. They worked hard, they had a positive attitude, and they embraced our ‘team’ philosophy. Unfortunately, the league requires us to cut our squad down to 53, so we certainly couldn’t keep them all. We feel good about the guys on our team, and I think we have a good mix of veteran and young players on our roster.”
