Green “On the Downswing” Says KFFL.com

KFFL.com has released a list of “Players on the Downswing” and new Dolphins QB Trent Green has made the list.  Below are the comments on Trent from the site:

Trent Green, Miami Dolphins – With an offseason move to the Dolphins, Green will look to bring some stability to the quarterback situation after the Daunte Culpepper-Joey Harrington experiment from last year. Green’s 2006 season was cut in half after he sustained a concussion in the first game of the season. In the eight games he did play in, he averaged just 168 passing yards, 0.9 touchdowns and 1.1 interceptions per game. Green appears to be on the downward slope of his career as his numbers dropped from 4,591 in 2004 to 4,014 in 2005. Projecting what his totals would have been in 2006, taking the 168 passing yards per game average, and he would have finished with just 2,688 yards. As you can see, Green has is in a steady decline, and things don’t appear much better in Miami. He will not have the same safety blanket he had with the Kansas City Chiefs as he had in tight end Tony Gonzalez. The running game is not as good as well. Neither is the offensive line, which could be hurt an immobile quarterback such as Green. As you can see, most signs are pointing to a decline in Green’s fantasy value. Perhaps the real reason behind his move to Miami was not to search for a Super Bowl title but rather a suitable retirement home.
