TE Martin “On the Upswing” Says KFFL.com
Posted by Matt Loede on July 13th, 2007 filed in OpinionsFor those of you fantasy football players, if your looking for a tight end that is expected to have a solid year, look no further than the Fins David Martin. KFFL.com, a top fantasy football site, says that Martin is one of their “Players on the Upswing” and should have a good 2007. Read below for their comments:
David Martin, Miami Dolphins - Martin, who signed with the club as a free agent, is expected to replace tight end Randy McMichael (St. Louis Rams) in the starting lineup. Martin was an admittedly injury prone, average-at-best backup for the Green Bay Packers during the last six seasons. However, we think Martin - assuming he stays healthy - has a great chance to bust out as fulltime player. New head coach Cam Cameron was the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers, and he was constantly finding creative ways to get the ball to tight end Antonio Gates. We think Cameron will use Martin the same way. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Martin has good hands and can make plays down the field. Last season, Martin caught 21 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games played. He missed five contests with a rib injury. Starting quarterback Trent Green clearly has experience getting the ball to the tight end. Martin makes a decent pickup as a No. 2 fantasy tight end with upside.
